If you wish to have that perfect romantic hairdo on your special day without spending a bomb on a hairstylist, we have a few gorgeous looking easy-to-do hairstyles for long hair that you must check out.

Here goes:

  1. The waterfall braid:

Start off by French braiding over your right ear. As you go, pull a tiny bunch of hair from the left into the middle immediately followed by hair from the top. Now take a bunch of hair from the right and drop it down. Pick the section of hair that is behind the section that you dropped and place it in the centre of the braid. Continue to do this, working towards the left side of the head. Once you reach the left side, drop a small section of hair as usual. Now wrap that left section over the middle piece and secure it in place with a bobby pin and you are done! If you wish to add more glamour, you can stick a piece of hair jewellery to hide the bobby pin.

  1. The retro bouffant:

Take the top half of your hair, and clip it. Now take the bottom portion of your hair and tie it in a low ponytail at the nape of your neck. With your fingers, work a small hole at the base of your ponytail and then push the ponytail down through it. This will give the look of an inside out ponytail. Now tease the ponytail with a hair teaser and once nicely teased, use your fingers to roll the ends of your hair upwards. You will have created a chignon. Secure the chignon with bobby pins. Now take the top portion of your hair and create a deep side parting. Back comb it and then take it back loosely, twisting it and pushing it upwards towards your scalp. Secure the portion with bobby pins. Now continue to loosely twist the hair through the ends and wrap the ends around the side of the chignon. Use bobby pins again to secure and you are done.

You can choose to gently loosen some small hair around your face to soften your look. Done.

  1. The braided bun:

Start off by separating a small section from the front half of your hairline. Now, do a small Dutch braid right behind that section. When the braid reaches the top of your hair, continue down in a regular braid. Use a clear elastic band over the end of the braid. Now tie the rest of the hair in a low ponytail at the nape of your neck.  Now take small sections of the ponytail, bit by bit and start wrapping them back into the band to create a bun. Now take section of hair that you separated at the start, tease it, and pin it in place.

Use a hair spray, to tame flyways and you are done. A nice big piece of jewellery can be placed at the centre of the bun for more oomph.

  1. The infinity braid updo:

First, make three sections in your hair. The middle section will be large while the other two on the sides will be small. Take the left section of your hair and French braid it. Do a regular braid with the right section and the middle section. Use clear elastic bands to secure all the braids. Now, take the centre braid and wrap it loosely into a bun. Use a bobby pin to secure it in place. Now, wrap the French braid under and around the middle bun and pin it in place.

Finally, take the side braid and wrap it over and around your middle bun. Pin it in place and spray hair spray mist all over. Done!

  1. The double twisted bun:

Apply a smoothing serum all over your hair and comb it out neat. Use a rat tail comb to create a side parting in your hair. Now divide your hair into three sections. Again, the middle section will be larger than the two side sections. Take the middle section and tie it in a low ponytail using a clear elastic. Now wrap the ponytail in a regular bun. Next, take the right section of your hair and further divide it into two sections. Twist the first section tightly toward your bun and then wrap it under and around. Secure it with a bobby pin.

Repeat with the other section on your right. Do the same on your left side too. But instead of wrapping the twisted sections under and around, wrap them over and around the bun and then secure.

  1. Flower braid:

Take a one inch section of hair from each side of your head above your ears and gently twist them to the centre of your head. Secure the two sections with a clear elastic. Grab a two inch section of hair from under the elastic and braid it up. Secure that too with an elastic. Wrap this braid around the base to form a flower shape and use bobby pins to secure it in place and you are done.

You can choose to use sea salt spray on the rest of your hair to give it a straight out of a beach texture.

  1. The twist and pin do:

Use a small amount of reworkable hold paste and your fingers to slick down any major cowlicks. Next, take a two inch section of your hair on the top of your head at the centre and twist it to form a tight coil, naturally forming a bun. Now keep taking two inch sections from either side, twist and wrap them around the bun. And secure them with pins. Repeat till all the hair is pinned up.

Use hair stickers all over to give it a glam look. Done.

  1. The half French twisted do:

Take the top quarter section of your hair and tie it into a small ponytail using a clear elastic band. Next, grab two inch sections from both the sides of your head, pull them back and create another ponytail. Now twist the ends of the second ponytail till it becomes hard and then use a bobby pin to secure the twist flat on your head. Continue pinning so that the entire length of twist is in place.

That’s all!

  1. The topsy tail do:

This one’s a winner. Looks beautiful on all face shapes. To do this wonderful wedding hairstyle, start by gathering a medium section of hair on the top of your head. Loosely secure this section of hair at the back of your head using a mini elastic. Now two inches below the first ponytail, gather a two inch section of hair from both sides of your head and tie it in a ponytail, such that the second ponytail sits perfectly on top of the first. In the same way, create two more ponytails. Now grab the first ponytail and gently remove its end from the remaining three ponytails. Make a small space in the hair above the elastic and push the ponytail up and through the elastic to create a topsy tail. Repeat it with all the four ponytails that you have created. Next, grab a half inch section of hair from under the first ponytail and wrap it around the base of the ponytail to hide the elastic.

Pin the hair such that the ponytail sits flat on the head. Voila!

  1. The fancy updo:

You have to begin by separating your hair into four sections. The two front sections will be from the either side of your ear to temple area and the remaining two sections will be from the rest of your hair in the back. Take the mid-section of your hair at the back and divide them into a top and a bottom section. Take the bottom section of hair and tie it into a ponytail at the nape of your neck. Put another clear elastic two inches below the first one. Now gently roll the ponytail up into a bun and secure it with a bobby pin at the nape. Let the top section of the hair sit smoothly down now. Secure the top section in a loose half-up ponytail with an elastic. Now twist the tail end of the ponytail into the base and pin the twist above the bun. Now take the section of the hair on the left and braid it. Secure the braid with an elastic.  Gently tug at the braid from either side for a thicker looking one. Now wrap the braid around the back of the head and secure it with a pin above the bun.  Now repeat the same with the remaining hair on either side.

Fix the face framing sections (the top sections) to fall on your face in soft curls. Use a hairspray to secure the style in its place. Done.

  1. The French hawk do:

First off, separate a two inch section of hair at the top of your head, at the centre, such that the section starts at your hairline and ends at the crown. Next, beginning at the hairline, separate the section into three smaller sections and start French braiding it. French braid the entire section picking up tiny amount of hair to add to your braid as you go. Once your braid reaches the end of the section you first created, secure it with an elastic. Secure the hair elastic on your head with a bobby pin.

  1. The criss-cross mad do:

Don’t go by the name. This one looks super cute. Start of by using a texturizing finishing spray at the roots of your hair so as to hold your hairstyle in place, better. Next, separate a one inch section of your hair at the front of your hairline and clip it so it’s out of the way.   Section out an inch of hair from the right side of your head at the temple using a tail comb and pull it back around the back of your head. Pin the section on the left side of your head with a pin, pointing down.   Now repeat the same on the left side and then continue doing it alternating from left to right side working your way down the back of your head. Make sure you cover up each previous pin with a new half inch section of hair each time.

  1. The wrap around bun:

Start of by separating the hair into four sections- Top, bottom, left, and right. Now pin the bottom section up into a bun at the nape. Next, take the top section straight down and pin it under the bun. Now take the right section of your hair and braid it. Secure the braid with an elastic. Repeat the same on the left side. Now carefully pin each braid on the opposite side of the bun.  Take a small amount of reworkable hold paste in your finger tips and smooth out frizz or flyways and you are done.
